Sue's dear daughter Leslie has just come out of a sensitive eye surgery. I know how Sue's heart is busy now. Let us all pray for Leslie's eyes. She is such a good writer and sees the world so beautifully. Henry David Thoreau says, "The eyes are the jewl of the body." May those jewls always shine on Leslies face.
Sue please tell us how she is feeling as soon as you have some time to talk to us.

Thank you Ali,
As I said in Wild Apples, being with Leslie turns the world to technicolor. She is very dear to us, and we are very grateful for the experienced surgeon who has repaired her damaged retina. She had a tear in the back of the inner eye and the surgery has, hopefully, repaired it. We won't know for a long time, as the eye heals, whether she will have her sight as before, but we ask for a godwink. A god wink is an answered prayer, or an unexplained bit of magic in one's life. It is as if God winks and says, "Sure, it's OK. I am here with you."
